Mr Chong from GK ingredients held a baking class featuring Pandan Coconut Muffins, Oreo Cupcakes, Moist Chocolate Cake and Sponge Cheese Cake.

We started off with the Pandan Coconut Muffins.

After mixing the batter, it is piped into small paper cups to be baked in the oven.

You can even pipe instant custard on it for some decoration.

While that is baking, we move on to the oreo cupcakes using cupcake premix and crushed oreos.

When they're done, it should look like these...

Moving on, Mr Ching made moist chocolate cake, again, using a premix from his company, GK ingredients..

And while that's baking, we made a caramel decoration. Begin with boiling sugar with some water till it turns golden..
Drizzle it over silicon baking paper for awesome decorations.

By melting sugar and water again, he adds baking soda and walnuts and whisks it to make Honey Comb :D

When the moist cake is done, the honey comb is sprinkled over it after a layer of ganache is spread over it...

Last on the list is the Sponge Cheese Cake.

Adding lemon flavor and honey comb makes the cheese cake even more delicious!

When that's done, it's off to the oven and should come out looking like this!
For decoration, you can pipe cream onto the cake to get a simple yet beautiful pattern.
Below is a picture of the cake made by Mr Chong the day before the class.

And now for the cupcake decorations...

This is made by putting an oreo cookie(without its cream) at the base of the paper cup before piping the batter into it.

The caramel decoration goes on top..
a few sprinkles of crushed oreo...
aaaaand...ta-daaa

The participants were allowed to have some free samples to taste
and each and everyone of them gets a box containing a few slices of ll the cakes made today... I was a very successful day of baking with Mr Chong and we hope to have him back with us soon :) THANK YOU MR CHONG!!!
